Joe Lumb Trials

      Comments Off on Joe Lumb Trials

Monday 4th April is the deadline for the Joe Lumb (U17’s) trial nominations for the 2016 season. Trials will be held on Sunday 10th April. Nominations for Joe Lumb (U17’s) trials are low and while there aren’t many clubs that submit U17’s teams in to the junior cricket league there will be players playing senior cricket that are of representative standard. Players in school years 11 and 12 are eligible to play in the Joe Lumb squad. If any club would like a player nomination form please ask them to get in touch with Emma Lyons via email emmalyons_36@hotmail.com

Only Birstwith and Studley Royal have nominated players so far. There must be more eligible players out there. Don’t let these opportunities pass by for our young players.

Please can clubs that are wishing to nominate players return the coaches nomination form via email before Monday 4th April. Only players that attend the trial will be eligible for selection.

For those clubs that have nominated/wishing to nominate players;

Players are expected to turn up to the trial in sports kit (no need to wear whites) and with full protective kit.
Where possible players need to bring their own cricket ball to use during the net part of the session.
Parents are NOT permitted to stay and watch under any circumstance – this includes the viewing area upstairs – we have not paid to hire this area and if parents are found to be in there clubs will need to be charged.
Please send all players with a drink.
Please send all players with a completed parents permission form with a passport photo attached.
Only players that are seen at a trial will be eligible for selection irrelevant of whether they have played in previous years or have played any form of representative cricket.
The trial will test all areas of the game – batting, bowling, fielding, game situations and attitude.
Please can all parents ensure that the coaches on the day are made aware of any medical conditions their players may have.

Eligibility;
To clarify – any player selected to play for NORTH YORKSHIRE this season IS eligible to play representative cricket for Nidderdale Joe Lumb.
Any player that is selected to play for ANY of the YORKSHIRE SQUADS become ineligible to play cricket for Nidderdale Joe Lumb once they have played a county fixture.
Only players that attend the Nidderdale trials will be eligible for selection for the representative Nidderdale teams.

This note has been sent to all junior secretaries and all U17’s age group managers. Not all clubs enter an U17 team in the Junior cricket league BUT if you have players playing in your senior teams that you think are of a good standard please send them along to the trials.
