John Musgrove

Statement from Andy Carver, Chairman of South Kilvington Cricket Club.

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the death of our President, John Musgrove yesterday.

Johnie was the longest serving member of the Club, having played for South Kilvington CC from the post World War 2 years through to the 80’s in the Wath League. After retiring from playing, John continued to support the club at every game by either helping as scorer, or just as a spectator.

Unfortunately over the past two seasons John’s ill health prevented him from attending most games, but his daughter Janet would call as soon as our games ended to keep him up to speed with how we had performed, and in particular how his grandson (Josh) and great-grandson (Jake) had played.

We will all miss him, and his wisdom.

The thoughts and best wishes to John’s family from all involved with the Nidderdale League.
