This session has been postponed due to illness. We will look to rearrange the date. Apologies for any inconvenience.
The League Management Committee of the Theakston Nidderdale League has decided to remove any potential barriers to clubs participating in this extremely valuable event and will fund this course. This means that there will be no charge to clubs to attend.
The use of digital communication tools are a fantastic opportunity to get clubs and players engaged and more games played each week. Smartphones and social media are part of players’ everyday lives. We should maximise every opportunity to contact our players.
How can you get your message directly to the pockets of your players?
Social media is a tantalising opportunity for your cricket club to build an audience, boost membership and raise funds – but you need to be strategic and play to your strengths.
As a response to the ECB’s Digital Toolkit, part of their Get The Game On campaign, and as a long time tech-savy League, we have asked our good friends at Cricket Yorkshire to deliver a snappy session on how clubs can make the most of digital technology, apps, photography, video and messaging. We can see the benefits of using, mostly free technology, to get messages and stories out to clubs and players. We want you to harness those same benefits.
This three-hour afternoon workshop, on Saturday 25th February at Masham Cricket Club, will include:
◦ Types of social media and what to focus on
◦ Who’s in charge of your social media and why that matters?
◦ Why quality trumps quantity every time
◦ Technology masterclass: devices, programmes; the power of images
◦ Social media pitfalls to avoid
◦ Importance of analytics
◦ Q&A session, challenges to do (post-workshop) and quiz with prizes!
This workshop is delivered by John Fuller, experienced cricket journalist and founder of CricketYorkshire.com; a popular cricket website covering county and grassroots cricket in Yorkshire.
Cricket Yorkshire now has an audience of over 10,000 people across Twitter and Facebook but, like you, he started with no fans or followers! It’s time to unlock some of those secrets…
