We are just a week away from the Ingilby Shield v2.017 This is the annual, and lets face it, epic battle between a team of the Overseas Players and a team of home grown talent. We visit Wath and Melmerby Cricket Club (the one with the legendary teas) this season with a start time of 1:30pm. We play 40 overs and it is always a fun afternoon with bar and food laid on and some quality cricket.
After the England team gave the Aussies a right spanking this week in the Champions Trophy, will Chris Gill’s men dish out another thrashing to our antipodean friends?
There will be a bit of extra spice with some more stumps provided by Pimp My Stumps and Zing Bails, as seen in the IPL and Champions Trophy. It is really great to be able to use one of our sponsors to provide the trophies for the game.
When Matt Parker isn’t playing for Knaresborough Forest, he masquerades as wood based superhero OakBloke who creates fantastic bespoke wooden and personalised gifts. He has made some unique trophies and mementoes of the game as you can see here. We are also very fortunate to be able to create bespoke caps for both teams thanks to M&M Embroidery Designs. I hope you will agree that the players will look very smart!
