Further Information
On a very grey and chilly evening we hosted Dean and the Beckwithshaw team for our semi final. What a game.Beckwithshaw bowled first and to start off with were very tight the first over being a very good maiden from Tom Peakman. The remainder of the Beckwithshaw bowlers continured in the same vein with the boundary only being found twice in 3 pairs, not bad at all. This changed slightly when the final pair of Callum and Will Hubbert came to the crease and suddenly their was a little bit of a run fest, nothing to do with the bowling as Jordan so rightly pointed out "that was a good ball" as it disappeared over the boundary for 6, Sometimes there is no justice!
Beckwithshaw got off to a good start with the bat with some very good running between the wickets and a lot of singles, but again the boundary was hard to find due mainly to some excellent fielding from the Birstwith team. Wickets fell occasionally and the singles kept coming, but it was never enough to get the total required.
An excellent game of cricket and enjoyed by all the parents and coaches. Well done to Beckwithshaw look forward to next season
