Further Information
This game was a rearranged game from an earlier rained off match, important result as it was also the quarter final of the Coad cup. This time at least the sun was shining and everyone able to enjoy a game of cricket without sweaters and sowesters. A very impressive start by Harrogate's bowlers and fielders not allowing Birstwith to get any runs on the board, until skipper Callum Mclachlan got to the crease with his partner Will King who must have been briefed to the importance of the single when on strike hence the 30 runs scored.
Harrogate then followed this up with a very strong batting performance with 5 players getting into double figures, not bad at U9's. Well done to Harrogate and sorry to see the final result as at least we could have used the excuse that we were beaten by the eventual champions!!
