Further Information

Goldsborough started like the proverbial train as Sam Davies retired after just 2.1 overs of the game (25 in 9 balls) followed by younger brother George as the hundred came up in 10 overs. Tobias Steele helped the score onwards with a good 25 but accurate bowling from Robbie Barr stopped Boro from been out of site at half time with 4 very good overs. Sam Davies completed a well deserved 50. Burton Leonard started relatively slowly but did have the luxury of Robbie Barr retired in the pavillion followed shortly by Crawshaw allowing the visitors to tackle the task of getting 81 of the last 7 overs. A direct hit from the long leg boundary by Joe Hay to run out Rowe made the task a bit steeper, with 30 off 2 needed with the last pair at the crease. Robbie then proceeded to hit the League Side opening bowler for 21 with 3 remarkable 4's through extra cover in the penultimate over. Jake Sucharzewski's last over started where the previous one had finished watching the first one hit the fence. 3 from 3 balls put the visitor's firmly in control until a combination of a very unfortunate hesitation and a direct hit let Goldsborough win by the narrowest of margins. Heavy rain immediately before the start made conditions difficult
