Minutes of the Management Meeting held at Ripley Castle - Monday, June 10, 2002

MINUTES The Minutes of the meeting held on Monday March 25th 2002 were recommended for approval and passed before they were signed as being a true record.
MATTERS ARISING There were no matters arising
CORRESPONDENCE AND SECRETARYS BUSINESS
Ripley v Dacre Banks July 27th - Party in the Park. Ripley have contacted Markington to use their ground - Markington agreed but would require a fee - Ripley ( Justin Park) reported that the club would rather play at home - if they did move the match to Markington they would still have to travel on A61 - Sunday fixture still to be considered.
Harrogate Gas Sports late registration of players - letter to go to the club.
Studley Royal M. Nixon played on 26th May but not registered until the 27th May. Letter to go to Studley Royal asking for explanation.
Dacre Banks ( Steve Fish ) - Not eligible to play until he has British Citizenship.
Ripon ( Chris Searle ) put on record their thanks for the graciousness of Thirsk C.C. who when Ripon were short of players gave them 2 players to field the whole of Thirsk innings.
Terry Hood as paid his advertisement fee but is unhappy that his name was removed from the umpires list.
Ripley ( Ian Robinson ) not happy when Lofthouse and Middlesmoor called their fixture off when he considered ( on visiting the ground ) felt that the ground was fit for play.
Ripon ( Barry Kay ) have paid their fine for late arrival of result sheets. Letter received by Neil Burtwistle.
Middleham wish to register an overseas player ( Peter Venter ) - no - all overseas to be registered before the start of the season.
Middleham state that if they get to the final of the Wath Cup they will be unable to compete as they will be away on tour.
Blubberhouses have reported that there are still Captains who do not abide by the E.C.B. Directives on Fast bowling and wearing of helmets. Some clubs just don't bother until challenged. A letter to be drafted to be sent to any club who is said to be ignoring the E.C.B. directives.
Copies of the Loan Scheme were handed to committee members and agreed.
TREASURERS REPORT
Bank Balance £6,924.59 Bills to pay Balls £16.000.92 and Printers £1.706.71
Accounts gone out to all clubs.
UMPIRES SECRETARY REPORT
Barry Canham has passed his Exams
We have 21 active umpires this season - 3 as a result of letters to clubs.
Captains Report Forms - Mixed reception. Some Captains say they are a waste of time!
Captains have said that they will not give full marks because - they don't like him - no umpire is perfect - we don't and wont give 20/20. Other remarks - where are the yellow forms? He doesn't give 6s flamboyant enough.
One umpire given as low as 11/20.
GROUND COMMITTEE REPORT
Next meeting June 13th. Cards are being received from Umpires and only 3 complaints of sub-stand pitches - Arthington. Almsford Oval and Thircon.
Over rates. Best 20 per hour worst 14.5 per hour
Need 17 per hour to finish at 8.pm.
DISCIPLINE
Glasshouses v Markington clear misunderstanding. Settled amicably. No points to Glasshouses and 6 to Markington.
INDOOR SIX ASIDE ( juniors )
Will go ahead again - much enjoyed by all boys ( and parents ) Under 13 Winners Kirkby Malzeard and Under 15 Pannal.
Credit to go to Bill Kitson for organising the league and to Bill Kitson. Goff Wetherill and Tricia Heard for giving their time to umpire and score the games.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS

Rules that need looking at Timing of posting and delivery of Result Sheets
Transfers and Loans and Registration of ALL players ( juniors at the moment do not NEED to be registered )
Yorkshire Inter-league Nidderdale v Dales Council will be played at Harrogate C.C. on Tues June 25th at a cost of £75. - Unable to arrange the fixture for a Sunday.
Leeds Area - fixture to be arranged.
Lords Cricket Balls for Cup Matches - Eric Houseman will sort out the distribution to clubs.
Ackrill Newspapers - new owners - sponsorship - 3 yr agreement - discuss at next meeting.
Umpires and Scorers Course - hopefully go ahead in September for 10-12 weeks.
Visit to HEADINGLEY by the Management Committee. Provisional date September 1st
Yorkshire v Glamorgan dependant on whether Yorkshire get through to the Cheltenham and Gloucester Final at Lords on August 31st ( the reserve date is September 1st ).
If they do then the Yorkshire v Glamorgan fixture will be moved to September 2nd.
