Minutes of the Management Meeting held at Ripley Castle - Monday, December 09, 2002
MEMBERS PRESENT. Sir Thomas Ingilby. Mrs Tricia Heard. Messrs ErikThompson. John Barrett. Jeff Watkins. Peter Crack. Bill Kitson. Neil Burtwistle, Bruce Jackson. Peter Bentley. Ben Drummond. Erik Houseman and Chris Newton.
APOLOGIES were received from Steve Whiteley and David Burton.
THE MINUTES of the meeting held on Monday October 21st 2002 were signed as being a true record.
CORRESPONDENCE AND SECRETARYS BUSINESS
Teams for 2003 Confirmed that Harrogate Strays playing at Almsford Oval and Bolton Abbey 1st X1 playing at Bolton Abbey who will be in division 2 in 2003 have the necessary facilities at their grounds as laid down by the League.
Harrogate 4th X1 and Pannal 3rd X1 will share the ground at St. Aidans School.
Nomination of Officials for election at the 2003 A.G.M. Tricia Heard. Neil Burtwistle and John Barrett all retire. All have been nominated by five clubs with no further nominations so will be re-elected without the need for a vote.

The three retiring members are Peter Bentley. Bruce Jackson and Steve Whiteley.
Nomination of Disciplinary Panel AS ABOVE
The retiring panel are John Lyons. Roger Deakin. David Owram. Goff Wetherall. Brian Vast.
Ties It was suggested that we should have League Tie manufactured to sell to club Members. Enquiries to be made.
Newby Hall. Letter received from the secretary asking about the overseas standing of one of their players. Chris Lane. Passed to Eric Houseman to check it out.
Leeds Area Cricket Council. Letter received noting that no one has attended the meetings for some long time. We need a representative. No Committee Member will do it so it will be put to the Clubs at the January A.G.M.
Cheques to go to clubs from Lords International.
Atkinson Swires Cup Bishop Thornton £150. Pannal £100.
Reserve Knock out Bilton !30, Hampsthwait £80.
Wath Cup Middleham £100. Bishop Thornton £75.
TREASURES REPORT.
Balance £9.882 after payment to Clubs from Lords International.
Bagby & Balk have paid their outstanding subscription and also
Galphay & Winksley C.C.
UMPIRES SECRETARY 7 people sat and passed Part 1 of Umpires Examination
1 passed Part 2. Guy Smalley will know in 2 to 3 weeks if he has qualified as Umpires Instructor.
Definitely 2 new umpires for next season.
GROUND COMMITTEE Nothing to report. No meetings recently.
DISCIPLINARY PANEL REPORT. Galphay & Winksley v Thornton Watlass now closed. Still awaiting a copy of a letter of apology from Mark Pearson Pannal which is to be sent to Bob Hesk League Umpire.
RULE CHANGES SUB COMMITTEE. All the changes, alterations and tightening up of Rules were agreed by the management committee and will be put the A.G.M. in January.
ANNUAL DINNER. Income £6.185 Expenditure £7.167
The Raffle made a substantial profit. Thanks must go to Sir Thomas who at the last minute gave more prizes. The overall result was a loss on the evening. An anonymous donation was received to cover the complementary tickets. A very enjoyable was had by all.
The date of the 2003 dinner will probably be November 14th but the venue has yet to be agreed. The Majestic are asking for £27 per head which would mean £30 per ticket. TOO MUCH. They also require £50 for the hire of a microphone and £150 if we required a toastmaster. LOOK ELSEWHERE.
Cedar Court. We would be restricted on numbers.
The Cairn is a possibility. The Dinner committee to look at this with a top price of £25 per person. Eric Houseman to start arranging speakers. The speakers at the Majestic were top draw.
UMPIRES REPORT.
7 entrants took part 1 of the Umpires Examination and 1 took part 2 with a 100% pass rate. Guy Smalley is expected to have qualified as an instructor confirmation in 2 3 weeks.
GROUND COMMITTEE.
Nothing to report at this meeting. The Ground Committee have not met since our last meeting.
DISCIPLINARY PANEL.
Galphay & Winksley v Thornton Watlass has been finished off.
Pannal ( Mark Pearson ) v Bob Hesk not yet resolved no correspondence from Mark Pearson as yet.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Sports Council Erik Thompson attended this meeting. After report given committee decided to ask all clubs where their Rates are paid and how much they pay and discount if any. A form to be compiled and filled in and returned to the league secretary.
Junior Cricket League
Approach has been made to the Junior League from the Coaching Association.

Indoor Cricket
6 aside indoor cricket will start on January 4th 2003 at the Recreation Centre. Pateley Bridge with 8 under 15 teams and 6 under 13 teams.
