Minutes of the Management Meeting held at Ripley Castle - Monday, August 23, 2004
MEMBERS PRESENT

MINUTES
Minutes of the meeting held on July 5th 2004 were signed as being a true record of that meeting.
MATTERS ARISING
There were no matters arising.
CORRESPONDENCE AND SECRETARY’S BUNSINSS
Pannal C.C. 10 men on Aug 14th – explanation received from Adrian Garne.
Bishop Monkton have applied to join the Evening league – 2005. Agreed.
Non return of Cups – Fines to be levied on offending Clubs.
Letter from James Critchley re ''high pitched balls'' (beamers). Refered to Umpires secretary.
Pannal C.C. Adrian Garne re Phil Critchley. Could we waive the transfer form completion if Phil Critchley wished to return to Pannal from Harrogate – Occasion will not now arise but the answer would have been ''No''.
Pannal C.C. Adrian Garne has sent a letter to all clubs asking them to support a proposed rule change re overseas players.
Goldsborough sent a letter re Masham playing 1st eleven players in their 2nd team when the first team match was called off.
Sent to ECB – Copy of our list of Disciplinary actions and imposed penalties from 1990 to date.
A.C.U.& S. Umpires and Scorers Course to start in September.
The £300 Cheque promised to the YCA has not been sent to Eric Chadderton. – Eric Houseman will deliver it.
Evening League. Three Teams finished on same points. – Averages to be worked out as for Saturday Results.
ALEC HAMMOND– League Secretary from 1988 to 1993 died in July. The League was represented by Tricia Heard and Erik Thompson.
TWO club players have died since the last meeting - Paul Spink (35) from Ripley and John Musgrove (40) from South Kilvington.
Glasshouses C.C. went to Pannal Ash – There had been no phone call to cancel the match. Pannal minus 6 points and fined £10. Glasshouses plus 6 points.
TREASURERS REPORT
£12,326 in the bank. Still a few clubs not paid subscription. Treasurer to chase. Club treasures name and telephone number to be put in the handbook from 2005.
The treasurer queried how some teams only ordered 6 balls for the whole of the season. A letter to go to those clubs by treasurer.
LEAGUE EXPANSION
All members have read the proposed League Expansion for 2005 – 6 and the sub committee are now instructed to ''go to the next stage''.
DISCIPLINARY
North Stainley v Bilton. Umpires decision is final.
Pannal v Blubberhouses (Div 6) Non league ball used- repremand – no further action.
CUP COMPETITIONS
All cup matches completed. Thanks to Malcolm Howell for his help. Most of the cups had to be chased up due to non return on due date.
It is now passed the date for returning all the League Trophies and Secretary instructed to impose a fine on all clubs who have not returned them. This will net £110 to the league.
UMPIRES SECRETARY REPORT
7 people interested in attending. ACU&S are supplying a Laptop to Guy Smalley and he has to insure it. Insurance cover £15.39 will be paid for by the League. At the next umpires meeting the Bowling of ''Beamers'' will be discussed.
GROUND COMMITTEE
Ground Marks have not shown up anything contentious. Helperby and Thorp Perrow may go up. Helperby have everything in place for playing in Division 2.
JUNIOR LEAGUE
Joe Lumb team finished 3rd. The Lords Taveners teams lost more than they won. The insurance is covered by the League.
SIX A SIDE INDOORS (2005)
Letters are to go to all clubs asking for teams – dead line Sept 20th.
CHILD WELFARE
3 dates fixed for the courses to be held in the Tea Room and Ripley Castle. Sept 13th, 20th and 22nd. Letter went to all clubs. Also Ian Ashworth, Chris Stansfield and Bob Hesk will attend.
LEAGUE REPRESENTATIVE SIDE
It is a difficult job. League Cup (Atkinson Swires) clashing with Inter League Fixtures. Which is more important our Cup or Inter League? Is it possible to have dates fixed ( not played by )?
LEAGUE DINNER
Friday November 12th. Speakers Robin Smith,
Kim Barnett and entertainer Eddie Archer.

Disciplinary matters to go on the Web site. All results including Cup results. Clubs may e.mail Ben Drummond with any information required on the web site.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Tested Oxbridge Balls – only 50% replies from clubs. Balls are waxed rather than lacquered.
LIFE MEMBERS
Malcolm Howell and Wilf Wigglesworth and Albert Layfield (discussed many months ago) will be given Life Membership of the league for their long service to Dacre Banks, Burton Leonard and Birstwith respectively.
EVENING LEAGUE
Eligibility of players. To discuss later.
