CUP COMPETITIONS
Barry Gill - There does not seem to be commitment from some clubs to compete in cup competitions – Change of Rule may be needed to make sure all matches are played on the correct date. (Changing Ground) . Atkinson Swires Semi finals are behind the date fixed – agreed that Bishop Thornton v Masham should be on July 10th and Pannal v Dacre Banks on July 17th. Some clubs are unwilling to break fistures with Touring Sides etc. Blubberhouses and Ripley have conceded.UMPIRES SECRETARY REPORT

GROUND COMMITTEE REPORT
Ben not at meeting but had given this report - Apologies once again for not being able to make tonight's meeting. I noticed one thing in the minutes that needs correcting - ''All grounds inspected, all were found to meet minimum standard although one or two need closely monitoring. One ground, Bolton Abbey was reported by the umpires as unfit after their match with Raskelf.''As for some feedback for the meeting: Since the last meeting, I have had correspondence from Dennis Richards (St Aidans/Pannal 4ths) who is basically unhappy with the findings of the their ground inspection. The ground was marked as poor by Pete Armitage, as it was three years ago by Bill Kitson, and a similar letter was sent to Chris Newton. Whilst Dennis accepts some of points raised by the report, in his letter he is asking for special dispensation as St Aidans is the only state school in North Yorkshire providing a grass pitch for schools cricket. I have not replied to the letter yet, as i feel it is more appropriate to meet Dennis at the St Aidans ground and see for myself the condition of the ground before making any conclusions. My own personal feeling is that given the number of juniors playing cricket in the lower divisions, ALL clubs/grounds should meet the minimum standard. Given the current legal and child welfare world we live in the league cannot afford to show leniency in this matter. I will try to meet with Dennis within the next fortnight now the 'silly season' of evening cricket is virtually over. Other than that I have nothing else to report.
Committee Comments - Approach to Dennis Richards should be helpful rather than criticism.
JUNIOR LEAGUE
John Barrett - Every thing running smoothly in the Junior League. Harrogate won the Bob Mellor Trophy which was a great occasion.SIX A SIDE INDOOR JUNIOR
Bill not at meeting - As far as the Junior Indoor League is concerned, we are still receiving entries from clubs (you know how slow they can be) so will not know the format for next winter for week or two yet.CHILD WELFARE
Bradley not at meeting - Unfortunately I am working down in Coventry from Friday until next Thursday so please accept my apologies.CWO Update.
Carrying on from my last correspondence with you I have been able to establish the following with regards Harrogate CC and Wath CC - the 2 clubs who had not sent there CWO on an approved training course.
Harrogate CC
Spoke with Dave Swainston at great length with regards the course He informed me that Harrogate are now fully implementing all relevant strategies/guidelines with regards child protection as they are trying to achieve 'club mark' accreditation. He said that unfortunately the course that was run my Harrogate sport and leisure was fully subscribed and he couldn't get on. He said that he had actively been persuing Harrogate Sport to see when another course was being run but unfortunately they have no plans to do so. Following this conversation, I did some reasearch on behalf of Harrogate CC and found details,G>f course that are being run throughout North Yorkshire, with some as far afield as Whitby. I also managed to find details of the course that was being run by Leeds University and passed these on to Dave. Dave later got back to me to say that he managed to get on to the course in Leeds and thanked me for my help. If the commitee so wishes I will ask for a copy of the certificate that he received as proof of attendance. It's amazing what can be achieved with a bit of research and I was only happy to help Harrogate CC sort it out.
Wath CC
Have Left a message again on Trevor Kettlewells answer machine with regards whether or not he attended the course - I am still awaitin
