Minutes of the Management Meeting held at Ripley Castle - Saturday, June 30, 2001
MEMBERS PRESENT Sir Thomas Ingleby, Tricia Heard, John Barrett, Peter Bentley, Chris Newton, Bill Kitson, Ron Fry, Jeff Watkins, Tony Whittaker, Peter Crack, Steve Coombs and Erik Thompson.APOLOGIES Neil Burtwistle, Alex Houseman, Bruce Jackson, Eric Houseman, Barry Gill, David Burton and John Whitehead.
THE MINUTES of the meeting held on June 21st were signed as being a true record.
CORRESPONDENCE AND SECRETARYS BUSINESS
Glasshouses C.C. have applied to enter a 2nd X1 into the league for 2002. Agreed
Pannal 3rd who have played their home fixtures at Glasshouses will now play at St. Aidans C.A. ground at the school.
Bilton C.C. wish to play Steve Lawrence in their 3rd X1 in the last 4 matches of the season - NO his bowling average is too good.
Killinghall C.C. were unable to fulfil their fixtures in the Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Cricket Trophy and apologise. They will not be able to field a side in the Derek Marshall Memorial Cup Match at Goldsborough.
Derek Marshall Memorial Trophy Match will be played between a Nidderdale League Representative Side and a Harrogate Evening League Representative Side.
Junior Indoor 6 a-side - It has been suggested that as a league we should support the possibility of running an Indoor 6 A-side Competition for Juniors. Agreed
Bill Kitson will send letters to all clubs to find out which age groups will play.
Atkinson/Swires Cup was won by Killinghall beating Hampsthwaite at Burton Leonard with Charlie Dawson winning the Man of the Match Award.
Marking of Umpires. This is being considered for the start of 2002 season. Both Captains together to complete the relevant form.
A.G.M. - The following Officials will retire at the end of this year: Sir Thomas, Ron Fry and Chris Newton. The following Members will retire at the end of this year - Barry Gill, Erik Thompson and Eric Houseman. All six are eligible to stand for re-election. The Nomination Forms will be compiled by Erik Thompson.
TREASURERS REPORT - No report, Neil Burtwistle not it attendance. The Treasurer is to be asked to send a short report to all meetings if unable to attend.
DISCIPLINARY PANEL REPORT
Ripley v North Stainley (16th June 2001) - Date of hearing 16th and 17th July 2001
1. Michael Ord of North Stainley C.C.
Reacting in a threatening manner and using foul and abusive language
Suspended for all NACL matches for 3 weeks from 1st June 2002 to 15th June 2002 inclusive and severely warned as to future conduct.
2. John Frazer of Ripley C.C.
Using foul and abusive language and confronting an opposing player, being team captain.
Suspended for all matches for 6 weeks from 11th August 2001 to 15th September 2001 inclusive and severely warned as to future conduct.
3. Ripley C.C. 6 points deducted - suspended for 12 months from 11th August 2001 for using foul and abusive language on the field of play
4. North Stainley C.C. 6 points deducted - suspended for 12 months from 11th August 2001 for members of the team and some supporters coming on to the field of play whilst North Stainley were batting. Penalty against each club applies immediately if there is any further offence.
Appeal Both clubs appealed but the appeals were turned down at a further hearing on 9th August 2001. The original decisions therefore stand.
Boroughbridge v Raskelf (21st April 2001)
Boroughbridge C.C. failed to notify Raskelf C.C. that their ground was unfit to play.
6 points deducted from Boroughbridge C.C.
6 points awarded to Raskelf C.C.
Boroughbridge C.C. fined £10.
North Stainley v Bolton Abbey (19th May 2001)
Bolton Abbey C.C. failed to turn up for the match.
6 points deducted from Bolton Abbey C.C.

Bishop Thornton v Thorp Perrow (19th May 2001)
Bad language used on field of play by Phil Warren of Bishop Thornton.
(i) Phil Warren to apologise to Thorp Perrow C.C.
(ii) Reprimand issued to Phil Warren with a warning as to his future conduct.
Burnt Yates 1st X1 v Alne 2nd X1 (19th May 2001)
Confusion over scoring and therefore of the result of the match.
Both teams advised to take greater care with scoring. Both teams were aware of Alnes total. Alne were therefore the winners and awarded 6 points.
Studley Royal 2nd X1 v Lofthouse and Middlesmoor (2nd June 2001)
Report from Umpires of slow bowling rate of Studley Royal 2nd X1.
Studley Royal C.C. were advised to observe Rule 49(9) in future and thus avoid the need for imposition of penalties
There are 7 members of the Disciplinary Panel - it is proposed to increase this to 9 at the next A.G.M. - 2 more from Clubs.
UMPIRES TRAINING OFFICER REPORT Umpires and Scorers Course to start on September 27th 2001 and run for 10 weeks. Venue at Ripley Castle at 7.30pm. New posters advertising the course to go to all clubs.
UMPIRES ROTAS REPORT All Division 1 matches will have 2 umpires and Division 2 at least 1 umpire.
GROUND COMMITTEE REPORT The latest meeting of the Ground Committee was held at Newby Hall C.C. on July 30th 2001. The next meeting will be in October at Masham when the Ground Marks for the season will be available.
CHANGE OF LEAGUE BALL FOR 2002 No decision has been made - the Dukes Balls have still to be tried and tested.
LEAGUE DINNER Long discussion. Agreed that a letter from Sir Thomas will go to clubs before the ticket application form is sent out. The cost per ticket will be no more than £25.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS The Joe Lumb side is to be congratulated on getting to their Final against East Yorkshire which was played at Driffield. Unfortunately they lost a close game.
