Minutes of the Management Meeting held at Ripley Castle - Monday, March 25, 2002

MEMBERS PRESENT Sir Thomas, Mrs Tricia Heard, Erik Thompson, Jeff Watkins, John Barrett, Neil Burtwistle, Steven Coombs, Ben Drummond and Peter Crack

NOT A QUORUM

APOLOGIES were received from Eric Houseman. Bill Kitson. Tony Whittaker, Peter Bentley, Bruce Jackson, Steve Whiteley, Paul Pattison and Chris Newton.

MINUTES of the meeting held on Monday 11th February were signed as being a true record.

MATTERS ARISING No matters arising.

CORRESPONDENCE AND SECRETARYS BUSINESS
July 27th 2002 Ripley's Party in the Park - will cause congestion at the time of Ripley 2nd v Dacre Banks 2nd fixture. It was agreed that Ripley may arrange to play their fixture either on 28th July of find another ground on which to play.

A letter to go to all clubs advising them of possible delay on the roads in the Ripley area as anticipation is 10.000 cars attending the event.

Bilton have not notified the league as to where they intend playing all their 4th X1 home fixtures in the coming season. When Pannal Ash Ground is available that is where they will be but the others to be arranged.

Bagby and Balk have notified that as from now the club will cease to exist. Due to lack of players they are no longer able to field a team. Due to the Foot and Mouth outbreak in 2001 their ground was not played on at all and some players transferred to other clubs and others simply found other things to do on Saturday afternoons.

Thircon will continue to play in the 3rd Division of the league but nothing in writing yet.

This Season Captains in Divisions 1 and 2 are being asked to complete an Umpire Report Form ( Yellow Form ) This is to be completed and signed by both Captains and fowarded to Jeff Watkins who will monitor the marks given for each Umpire.

The Umpires Cards have been up dated to give more information - particularly the over rate. Bill Kitson will monitor all this information.


TREASURERS REPORT The Treasurer reported a bank balance of £8.333. Sponsorship money from Ackrill Newspapers used to be presented at the Annual Dinner. Should we not have a 3 year sponsorship. This will be discussed again at the next committee meeting.

UMPIRES SECRETARY We have 19 umpires plus 2 who can only stand on alternate Saturdays and another who will umpire when Ouseburn 2nds are away?

Brian Spence has given up umpiring- pressure or work. Response from clubs on Nomination of a person to umpire if called on has brought up to a dozen names. These will help out when the Rota is made up for the First Round Cup matches for Wath and Reserve Knock Out.

The reports on Umpires to be completed by Captains in Divs 1 and 2 has had a mixed reception from Umpires themselves. They have been however told that the reports are for Umpires Secretary and not for general information. Definitely NOT A LEAGUE TABLE Mike Pallott has been allocated Bill Kitson and James Critchley as his referees to mark his progress for him to go forward to Full Membership of Association of Cricket Umpires and Scorers.

INDOOR SIX ASIDE Progessing very well - All youngsters enjoying the games.
Under 15 Finals Day will be attended by Sir Thomas
Under 13 Finals Day will be attended by Erik Thompson
The winners will be presented with their trophy.

PRE SEASON MEETING April 6th at Ripon C.C. Arrangements have been made for this annual meeting.
Letters to the clubs plus all result sheets Umpires Cards and Captains report forms
Hand Books and Balls will be handed to the Club Captains at this meeting.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS Possible Speaker at the Annual Dinner in November is Mike Watkinson.
