MINUTES

The minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 10st May October 2005 were signed as being a true record of that meeting.

MATTERS ARISING

Correspondence from Dennis Richards (St Aidans School) regarding unfair criticism of the committee’s report was circulated and discussed. It was also noted that a similar letter had been received three years earlier when Bill Kitson had marked the ground as unsatisfactory. The Ground Secretary agreed to meet with Dennis before the start of the 2006 season.
A ground report from umpire Richard Bleasdale and the ground committee secretary’s reply was also circulated regarding Bolton Abbey’s match against Raskelf in last May. As the matter had been dealt with by letter it was decided to monitor the marks in 2006 for any improvement.

GROUND MARKS 2005

All the 2005 ground marks and 2004 comparison sheets were distributed amongst the members and discussed at length.

It was noted that Galphay & Winksley had low marks in division 4 and that there were some odd findings in the lower divisions. It was also noted that Hampsthwaite had achieved improved ground markings in both divisions one and three, mainly down to Pete Armitage’s hard work.

A vote was then taken to select the most improved ground, with Markington CC being the marginal winner over Hampsthwaite due to its 25.47% improvement which saw its marks rise from an average of about 10 to above 13.
