Friday 31 October 2003 - Nidderldale League Dinner
The Annual Dinner is to be held at The Cairn Hotel. The change of venue is to enable us to keep the cost of tickets at last year's level of £25. Recent years have seen this function provide excellent entertainment, please make every effort to make sure that your club is represented at this function.
This year's speakers include Rodney Hogg, former Australian Test Bowler, Graham Lloyd, ex Lancashire and England Player and Liverpool Comedian Danny Waters.
Could you please let me know your ticket requirements by November 6th by completing the downloadable form . Cheques to accompany ticket request please. These may be post-dated to Nov 14th 2003.

Wednesday 17 September 2003 - ECB Level 1 Coaching Course
The Course Commences Wednesday September 24 2003 at Harrogate CC and thereafter at Harrogate Grammar School Sports Hall except for 1 week theory night at Harrogate CC (TBA).
This course is the basic coaching award course and its aim is to enable those who successfully complete it to be able to organize and coach juniors at club level in group coaching sessions and manage their net practice sessions. Candidates successfully completing the assessment at the conclusion of the course will obtain the ECB Level 1 Coaching Certificate.

Tuesday 19 August 2003 - Notice to all Clubs
Please be aware that Ripon CC have been the lastest club to fall victim to theft. On Monday thieves broke into the groundsman's shed and stole a wicket mower, Sisis scarifier and a Mountfield ride-on mower. If anyone hears about these items being offered for sale locally please contact Ripon Police Station.

Tuesday 13 May 2003 - To All Clubs
Clubs are reminded about section 19 of the constitution :-
"If a club is fielding two or more teams they must fill their teams in order of seniority, i.e. the first team must have eleven players and take preference over the second team; the second team must have eleven players and take preference over the third team. Where clubs fail to field eleven players in a senior team they must submit IN WRITING to the Honorary Secretary (with their match returns) the reasons for this. Points may be deducted at the Management Committee’s discretion. All disputes relating to teams shall be Disciplinary matters and shall be dealt with under the Disciplinary Procedures in Rule 29."
Some clubs have been fielding incomplete 1st XIs and full 2nd XIs. Clubs should note the requirment of the league to submit IN WRITING to the Honorary Secretary (with their match returns) the reasons for this.

Also, I now need the results from all home teams on Saturday before MIDNIGHT. If I dont have them by then there is a strong possibility that I cannot get them to Yorkshire Post by their dead line which is 12 noon on Sunday.

As the new season approaches and clubs begin getting their grounds ready, you may be interested to know that help and advice is available online. Pitchcare is a website that features and advice on ground preparation from the likes of Mick Hunt (MCC), Peter Marron (Old Trafford) and Steve Rouse (Edgbaston) among others. There is also a barter room where you can pick up second hand machinery and a forum where you can post questions.
