The sessions are held at a number of centres around the district, King James School, Knaresborough, St Aidens School, Harrogate, Boroughbridge Leisure Centre, Nidderdale Recreation Centre and Ripon College.

Wednesday 3 August 2005 - Arrow Ready Drive Nidderdale League U13's

The Arrow Ready Drive Nidderdale League U13's finished their Lords Taverners competition very much on a high by defeating North Yorkshire and South Durham by 5 wkts at Thornaby CC on Wednesday.

NYSD batted first and good bowling reduced the home side to 48-7, the wicket takers Tom Hickson (2), Johnathan Hare (1), Jamie Bryant (1), Peter Barnes (2), Ned Hammond (1). A stubborn stand of 68 took the score to 116 before Johnathan Hare had M Tate caught by wkt James Ford. The final total was 131-9 off 40 overs.

In reply Nidderdale openers Ned Hammond (13) and James Ford (17) made a steady and solid start, but with 3 quick wickets falling after their departure Nidderdale were beginning to struggle. However a fine match winning stand of 62 between Jamie Bryant (44*) and Peter Barnes (33*) saw victory with 2 overs remaining.

This win ensured the team finished joint top in the section, the highest ever position at this age group. The side only failed to qualify for the final by a batting bonus point, NYSD going through to the final.

Manager Rod Ford praised his squad saying, "This was a very strong group to play in, winning three games and losing one with only two balls remaining was a superb team effort. We Were very unlucky not to qualify for the final. The standard of cricket was very high and the players deserve full credit for their efforts."

Including two friendly fixtures against Leeds Area and Airedale and Wharfedale league the teams record is:
Played 6 Won 4 Lost 1 Draw (rain) 1

Monday 25 April 2005 - Result Sheets

First of all I would like to thank all those clubs that have used the new system over the weekend, I hope you found this method a lot easier and less time consuming than the old paper based procedure. I apologise to those clubs that tried to submit their sheets on Saturday evening, there was an initial problem but this was fixed by about 10.30 pm that evening.

One thing that does need clarifying is that there are two stages to sending a sheet online

1) Fill in the form with all the relevant match data and click submit. This writes a provsional copy of the resultsheet to the website

2) Check that all the information is correct, if you need to change anything, then make the changes and click update. If you are happy that the information is correct then click the email button at the bottom of the page. This action sends the resultsheet to Ackrills and the league secretary and updates the website copy.

Two stages are necessary as it is very easy to make a mistake when completing the form, so some sort of double-checking is required, this is something I have found myself when using the system.

One or two clubs may have just done step 1 and not step 2, but as it was pointed out at the meeting as long as the information is on the website clubs will not be penalised so long as the report was submitted within the normal deadline. Both I and Tricia are able to cross reference what emails have been received against the resultsheets on the website so that in the event of an email not being received I am able to re-send the email again.

With regard to the information being submitted we would ask that all clubs write the club name in the 'sheet sent by' field rather than their personal name. This just makes Tricia's job easier in matching a resultsheet to a club. I would also ask that clubs ensure the sheets have the match date rather than date when the resultsheet is sent.

Other than that the system appears to be working as intended and providing exactly the sort of information we wanted it to and we are grateful to the clubs who have adopted the new system. Looking at the web statistics for the site, on the Sunday after the first game last year there were 402 pages viewed, yesterday there was 2,269, so clearly people are visiting the site and looking at the individual resultsheets, and I think it is fair to say we will be one of the first leagues in the country to offer members and visitors such detailed match information which is a tremendous plus for the league

For those clubs who have not yet seen how the system works or the information it can provide, please visit the
result sheet page and click on one of the sheets.

Many thanks for your efforts !

Sunday 24 April 2005 - Week 1 Results

Result sheets from yesterday's games are now starting to filter through the system, the full list can be found here. A Round up of all the results will appear tomorrow morning.

Saturday 23 April 2005 - Online Resultsheet Submitter Back Online

The resultsheet submitter is now back online after undergoing a small change to fix a bug in the new system.
