Tuesday September 2007 - Arrow Readydrive Nidderdale Under 13 Cup Final

On a day which had threatened rain, but managed to remain fine, the Under 13 Cup Final began on time during a day of 5 Junior Cup Finals held at Studley Royal Cricket Club.

Studley Royal had won the North Section and were unbeaten all season in the league, while Knaresborough won a close fought South Section with 2006 winners Bilton.
Studley Royal batted first and after 20 overs had reached a total of 82 for 6. This total was hard fought with some excellent catching in the field by Knaresborough, with Jonathan Tattersall taking two fine catches. Graham Whiles took 2 for 22, and Sam Duffield offered some spirited resistance with 25 runs.

This appeared a good total at the mid way stage during the Knaresborough innings, with wickets being taken by Ben Coad, George Lamb and Angus Shaw, who took 1 for 6 off 4 overs. Knaresbough however fought back hard led by some fine batting from Alex Gates, hitting 4 boundaries in one match deciding over. Knaresborough reached their target in the 19th over, and proved to be worthy winners in an excellent game of cricket played in a fine manner by two good teams.

Medals and the winning Trophy were presented by Under 13 Secretary Ken Coad, and Tom Lister from league sponsors Arrow Readydrive.
