Friday April 2008 - 2008 REGISTRATION OF PLAYERS ** UPDATE **
As some of you may be aware now, the Nidderdale League is asking all clubs to register players via email using a standardised form which can be downloaded from the website.
The reason for this is simple
- Reduce paperwork for the League Secretary
- Make all names and addresses legible
- Make life easier for the clubs/secretaries
The new procedure works almost identically to the old postal system. The new form can be downloaded here . Please note the form is a standard Excel (97-2003) spreadsheet file (part of the Microsoft Offfice Suite). If your Club Secretary does not have this facility, then there is also a Microsoft Works template which can be downloaded here, failing that then please delegate someone in your club to complete the form who can read and complete these files.
The form itself is self explanatory and you complete it exactly as you would the old paper version except that we are asking clubs to highlight any new players in bold and those requiring a transfer form in red so as to make life for the League Secretary a lot easier.
One the form is complete, one copy should be kept on file with the club and the other is to be emailed to the League Secretary making sure the name of the club and the words "Registration Form" are written in the subject line of the email for easy identification. The League Secretary will confirm receipt by reply email. It is advisable that all clubs do this as soon as possible and not leave it to the Friday evening before the first Saturday please.
** PLEASE NOTE **
If you are using the Microsoft Works template then please ensure you save your file from Works as an Excel (.xl or .xls) file because the League Secretary has no way of reading standard works file at the moment.
If clubs wish to register further players, they should add them to their saved copy and then re-email the form to the League Secretary who will once again confirm receipt by reply.
If clubs do not receive confirmation of receipt then please phone the League Secretary to check.
The beauty of the electronic systems is that clubs then have a stored copy of all players which they can circulate to club captains etc and re-use year after year and just make amends which it is hoped will make the club admin a lot simpler.
Finally if anyone is having difficulty, please email me and I will endeavour to try and sort any problems out.
